St. Mary's is the first Syrian Orthodox Church (Jacobite Church) in Metro Atlanta. Our church was established by Rev. Fr. Joseph C. Joseph in 1987 with permission from His Eminence Mar Athanasius Yesue Samuel, the late Archbishop of the United States and Canada. St. Mary's began in Austell and with it’s growth decided to relocate to Lilburn, in November of 2000. Our church members actively participate in many programs including: Sunday Worship Services, Sunday School, Festivals, Celebrations, Prayer Meetings, Picnics, Christmas Caroling, and Social Gatherings. The enthusiasm of our members allows St. Mary's to collect funds to distribute to needy families during the Christmas season. Presently our church has 70-80 members and each member contributes their time, energy, and efforts in making St. Mary's a warm and loving place to worship.
