During the January 2002 general body meeting, the members of the church felt it was necessary that a youth group was organized. The members selected Joel Joseph as the youth coordinator and the youth group had their first meeting in February. The youth group began their meetings with the guidance of our vicar Fr. Joseph. During the meetings the youth recites Bible verses, have discussions, sing songs, and prays together. Currently the youth is working on organizing more activities and building a strong relationship with God and the church. The youth was very excited to hear that the archdiocese in North America established a student association MGSOSA (Mar Gregorios Syrian Orthodox Student Association) during the conference in July 2002. We all hope and pray the association will grow and our youth in North America will unite to become a very strong unit in our Syrian Orthodox Church.
